Objective To observe the applicative effects of MEBO Wound & Ulcer Dressing (MEBO Dressing) in the treatment of diabetic ulcers and explore the nursing measures. Methods Ninety?six patients with diabetic ulcers (129 ulcers) admitted into The Second Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College between March 2012 and March 2014 were randomly divided into two groups: an observation group (51 cases with 69 ulcers) and a control group (45 cases with 60 ulcers). In combination with the active treatment of primary diseases and complications as well as intensive care, the observation group was locally treated with the bandage method of MEBO Dressing with the dressing change once per day; while the control group was treated locally with Gentamycin gauze, with the dressing change also once per day. The wound healing time and healing effects in the two groups were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was 94.2%, with 56 cases cured, 9 cases showed obvious effectiveness, 4 cases turned better and no case was ineffective, while that in the control group was 81.7%, with 42 cases cured, 7 cases showed obvious effectiveness, 6 cases turned better and 5 cases was ineffective, and thus there was statistically significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). The average wound healing time in the observation group was 4.4 d ±3.8 d for phase Ⅰ, 12.3 d ±3.7 d for phaseⅡ, 38.1 d ±6.9 d for phase Ⅲ and 56.8 d ±12.6 d for phase Ⅳ and that in the control group was 8.9 d ±4.5 d for phaseⅠ, 21.6 d ±6.7 d for phase Ⅱ, 45.9 d ±8.8 d for phase Ⅲ and 75.2 d ±15.6 d for phase Ⅳ, and there were statistically significant differences between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion MEBO Dressing in the treatment of diabetic ulcers in combination with the active treatment of primary diseases and complications as well as intensive care can realize satisfying curative effects, with advantages of easy operation, few adverse reactions and convenient nursing, deserving to be promoted in clinic.
