【Abstract】Objective To explore the clinical significance and management experience of setting up a nursing post for burns dressing change nurse in Burns Department. Methods The nursing post for burns dressing change was set up with proper trainings provided, the job responsibilities were established and the management system and regulations of dressing change room and ward were standardized. Then the patients’ satisfaction and the healing of wound were investigated. Results After the nursing post for burns dressing change was set up, the complaint rate related to dressing change dropped from 25% to 5% and patients’ satisfaction increased from 80% to 98%. Also, the incidence of nosocomial infection declined from 8.1% to 5.1%.Conclusion The setting up of nursing post for burns dressing change in burns department can significantly improve patients’ satisfaction, promote wound healing, and reduce the complaint rate related to dressing change as well as the incidence of nosocomial infection, deserving to be promoted in clinical practice. |
