【Abstract】Studies have confirmed that with the increase of aging population, the incidence of chronic refractory wounds including diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers is rising year by year, which, nowadays, has become a pressing problem in the medical community across the world. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore effective ways of promoting wound healing and shortening the length of hospital stay for patients with chronic refractory wounds. In recent years, plenty of clinical studies have confirmed that MEBT/MEBO invented by Rongxiang Xu had significant clinical effect in the repair of chronic refractory wounds, contributing a lot to the treatment of such wounds. Moreover, with a large number of basic studies, Tang Qianli, et al have verified that MEBT/MEBO can promote the healing of chronic refractory wounds by regulating some signal pathways and cytokines. This study was to summarize the previous studies on MEBT/MEBO, with the aim of providing theoretical basis for the clinical application of MEBT/MEBO in the treatment of chronic refractory wounds and new insights for further research on this front.
