【Abstract】Objective To investigate the clinical effect of the regenerative medical technology for burns, wounds and ulcers (MEBT/MEBO) in the treatment of traumatic nail bed defect. Methods Eighty patients with traumatic nail bed defect, admitted to Huangdao District People’s Hospital from November 2016 to November 2019, were selected as research subjects and divided, based on the different treatments they received, into a regeneration group (40 cases with 46 affected fingers) and a transplantation group (40 cases with 43 affected fingers). The patients in the regeneration group were treated with MEBT/MEBO, whereas the patients in the transplantation group with autoplastic transplantation of nail bed. The changes of pain degree and the recovery of the function and appearance of the injured fingers were compared between the two groups. Results After 4, 8, 24, 48, 72 hours of treatment, the pain scores of the patients in the regeneration group were significantly lower than that in the transplantation group (t=24.660, 46.590, 33.560, 52.600 and 29.900, all P<0.001); after 3, 6, and 9 months of treatment, the functional scores of the injured fingers in the regeneration group were significantly higher than that in the transplantation group (t=16.910, 15.540 and 14.110, all P<0.001); after 9 months of treatment, the excellent and good rate of the regeneration condition of the defected nail bed and nail in the regeneration group was 100%, which was obviously higher than 74.2% in the transplantation group (Z=-8.391, P<0.001). Conclusion MEBO/MEBT in the treatment of traumatic nail bed defect can significantly relieve wound pain and promote the recovery of function and appearance of the injured fingers. |
