【Abstract】 Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of fractional CO2 laser in the treatment of chronic wounds. Methods 64 patients with chronic wounds, admitted to Guangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, from November 2022 to October 2023 were enrolled as the research subjects and divided into the study group (n = 32) and the control group (n=32) according to the different treatment methods they received. The local wounds of patients in the study group were treated with dressing application combined with fractional CO2 laser treatment, whereas the local wounds of patients in the control group were treated with dressing application alone. Wound edema, granulation tissue growth, and healing status were observed and compared between the two groups. Results Respectively on day 1, 3 and 7 of treatment, there was no significant difference between the study group and the control group in terms of wound edema (Z=-0.254, -0.635 and -0.308, P= 0.799, 0.525 and 0.758). Respectively on day 7, 14 and 21 of treatment, the growth condition of granulation tissues in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group (Z=- 5.051, -5.055 and -4.720, all P<0.001), and the wound healing rates of patients in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t=7.818, 7.217 and 7.171, allP<0.001). Conclusion The application of fractionalCO2 laser combined with dressing application in the treatment of chronic wounds can effectively promote granulation tissue growth and accelerate wound healing.
